Terry Maddock Terry Maddock chairman Tricked into paddling by Bill Stansbie back in 1988, I was later conned into being treasurer till they found out where the money was going when they demoted me to Chairman. Lethargy prevents me from resigning. I was happy as an L2 Coach but recently wandered by mistake onto a Trainee L3 Assessment. I get hijacked onto rivers up to Grade 3, the sea and occasional slaloms. I'd give it all up if it wasn't for the thrill of stripping off in public car parks. I'm 60 and still have all my own teeth.
Paul Binks Paul Binks Secretary Not sure how he managed to become secretary, but lots of people seemed to be happy that someone was doing it. Paul thinks about paddling more than he does it but is trying to redress the situation.

Graham Kingaby Graham Kingaby Quartermaster I've been paddling since Sept 2009 and go whenever I can. I did my 2 star award last year, and enjoy running grade2/3 rivers. Better picture to follow.
John Kington John Kington Treasurer I've been paddling with Ribble for around 12 years. I'm happiest paddling grade 3 & 4 rivers, but also dabble with sea & flat water touring. If not in a boat I can often be found on a bike or up a hill - sometimes both together. Click to see John in a Dirty boat!!! s
Cynthia Conway RCC Logo Library Started paddling in 2004 and joined RCC in 2006. I enjoy touring especially on the sea. Not keen on white water but working towards a less timid approach to rivers and trying to develop a "go for it" attitude!
Mark Shaw Mark Shaw Competition Secretary Briefly dabbled with paddling in 2005/6 (2 star) when Jacquelyn & Jonathan started canoeing but they rapidly overtook me. When they both took an interest in slalom I decided to volunteer on the organisational side and eventually progressed to judging slalom races at international level. I also helped start the Canoe England Slalom Committee and am currently Vice Chairman. Now that Jacquelyn & Jonathan are independent I can focus some more of my time on helping to nurture an interest in the competitive disciplines within Ribble CC.
Rick Turner Rick Turner General Committee I have been taking part in outdoor adventure and sport all my life and love nothing more than being outside in all weathers. As well as coaching and helping others to enjoy paddle sports, my main interests are White Water paddling and adventure trips involving bushcraft.

Joined RCC in 2005 in order to fulfill a yearning to paddle white water before I reached 50. A serious illness meant I had to forgo the thrills of the white fluffy stuff and concentrate my energies on flat water. I organize the club's T.E.A. trips (Touring, Expedition & Adventure) enjoyng the pleasures of lochs, lakes and estuaries, which can on there day, prove to be more gruelling than the white water junkies would have you believe. Being on the water makes me feel alive!

Rachel Desmond-Drew Rachel General Committee Description: I've been paddling since 2007, when I joined Ribble Canoe Club, where I've had the opportunity to learn to paddle on moving water and at slalom.
Wayne Lees Wayne Lees General Committee Description: I joined RCC in August 2009, so still fairly new to the sport. Taking up canoeing is something that I had been meaning to do for some years but just didn't have the time. I finally got round to it and enjoy every it time I go out on the water.
Will Body Will Body General Committee I started paddling in 1991 through the scouts and also paddled with Pirates canoe club in Kent for a couple of years. After a few years off (distracted by mountain bikes) I got back into the sport during my final year at uni, then moved north and found Ribble canoe club who have been blessed with my good company since 2006. I'm most likely to be paddling a playboat, but you could find me in or on a variety of different boats or bikes.

Elizabeth Kingaby Elizabeth Sleaford Webmaster Unfortunately, I am unable to paddle due to my disability. However, I went out on Lake Coniston last year on the Family Fun Day and enjoyed it. I'm not married yet to Graham, but I'm already a paddling "Black Widow" due to Graham disappearing on a regular basis to go swimming. I now fulfil the role of webmaster.
Pat Green Pat Green Newsletter Editor Paddling since 1968 when we built two single wooden kayaks. As soon as our sons were old enough to sit in a kayak we bought two double touring kayaks. Regular paddlers of the club may recognise the paddler sat in the front of the kayak in my picture.
In 1980 we joined RCC and took up river paddling including slalom competition. We left in 1987 and took up other sports including golf, and only paddled occasionally. In 2003 we re-joined RCC and have taken up Sea & Lake paddling whilst continuing to enjoy river paddling.
Norman Green Norman Green Newsletter Editor Been paddling on and off since 1968. Joined RCC in 1980 where I learned to paddle white water. Qualified as BCU Senior Instructor E2 under the old scheme and was involved in slalom as a paddler, slalom trainer and assistant organiser. Left the club in 1987 and followed other interests, only paddling on rare occasions. I Re-joined RCC in 2003 and now I am interested in sea and lake touring as well as white water grade 2/3.
